Do you keep coming up with excuses to avoid doing the things that would enrich your life, like initiating intimacy with a partner, starting a creative project, making a difficult phone call, or developing a business idea?

As therapists the hardest part of our job is getting people to take action.

It’s not just that we procrastinate doing the things that would bring us satisfaction. Across the board, we tend to over-think and under-act. This can take many forms: worrying about the future, regretting the past, obsessing about a problem rather than trying to solve it. Not to mention the countless hours we spend flagellating ourselves for procrastinating so much!

Without realizing it, most of us become spectators—rather than participants—in our own lives. Your life is a precious gift, but it can only be appreciated by living it!

This webinar will teach you to break the habit of overthinking so you can start living fully. It is open to all and is a great introduction to the philosophy and practice of The Tools. No previous experience with The Tools is necessary.

The download includes an audio file and a PDF of the Memento Mori tool.

Barry Michels is coauthor of The Tools, a New York Times bestseller, and its sequel, Coming Alive. The resident therapist for goop.com, he has appeared on Nightline, Charlie Rose, and The Dr. Oz Show, has given a Google Talk, and has been featured in The New Yorker, Time Magazine, Psychology Today, and Vanity Fair. Barry has a BA from Harvard, a law degree from University of California, Berkeley, and an MSW from the University of Southern California. He has been in private practice as a psychotherapist since 1986.

Kristan Sargeant is a coach and therapist committed to helping individuals and organizations realize their full potential. A passionate advocate for women, she has produced three TEDxWomen events and coached more than 30 TEDx speakers. Prior to starting her private practice in 2007, she built an international wellness company from the ground up and grew it to over $500m in revenue. Kristan has a BA from Columbia University, an MA in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and spent a year studying Medieval and Renaissance literature at Cambridge University.
